(AUSTIN, Texas – March 10, 2022) – The Texas Hospital Association’s Fernando Martinez has earned a top award from HIMSS for his contributions to the health information and technology industry and for sustained leadership in the advancement of the HIMSS mission.
HIMSS will recognize Martinez as a recipient of the John. A. Page Distinguished Fellows Service Award during its global conference in Orlando this month. Read more about the awards and other recipients here.
Martinez currently serves as THA’s chief strategy officer and has been instrumental in leading industry boards and mentoring students and other up-and-coming leaders in the health technology field. He was nominated in part for his influence in building technology education programs, including Florida International University’s Master of Science in Health Informatics and Analytics program. Martinez has long served as a thought leader and trailblazer in the field of information technology and has served as a leader at THA since 2015.
The HIMSS John A. Page Distinguished Fellows Service Award recognizes commendable and long-standing contributions to the society made by a fellow member. The award honors recipients for a single exceptional contribution, for a sustained contribution, or for a lifetime of exceptional service.
