(AUSTIN, Texas – Feb. 18, 2020)  – The Texas Hospital Association awarded its Pioneer Award to El Campo Memorial Hospital CEO Nathan Tudor for his success in financial operations and expanding El Campo’s services to the community.

The Pioneer Award is given to a CEO or administrator of a rural hospital or health care system who demonstrates creative and innovative management achievements and leadership within the organization and the community.

“I cannot think of a more deserving recipient of our Pioneer Award,” said Ted Shaw, THA president and CEO. “Nathan is an extremely smart, hard worker who is not afraid to make tough decisions.”

Tudor accepted the honor Feb. 14 at the THA 2020 Annual Conference & Expo in San Antonio.

Tudor is recognized by his team and fellow leaders for his dedication to meeting the general health needs of his community. Tudor’s work ethic has enabled the hospital to expand the emergency department by 11 beds, open several new clinics in the community, acquire 14 nursing homes, and recruit physicians to the small, rural community.

Most notably, Tudor is working to build a new hospital building for the El Campo community and surrounding areas. Construction on the three-story building is set to begin soon Tudor has served in leadership roles at various Texas and Louisiana hospitals. He has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of its Top 25 CEOs under 40 and received the Early Careerist Award from the Central and South Texas Chapter of the ACHE.
