Brandon Cohen
Methodist Hospital Stone Oak
Methodist Hospital Stone Oak has named Brandon Cohen chief operating officer. Cohen most recently served as the associate chief operating officer (ACOO) for HCA HealthONE Swedish, a 504-bed level I trauma hospital in Denver, Colo. Cohen joined HCA HealthONE Swedish in February 2023 and led executive oversight for surgical services, interventional radiology, laboratory, the burn and reconstructive service line, imaging, and more. He was instrumental in several major projects, including a $3M sterile processing department expansion, a $22M operating room expansion, and a $76M tower addition. In his role, he partnered closely with quality and nursing departments to improve operational efficiencies and patient outcomes, helping the hospital achieve national awards, such as PINC AI™ 100 Top Hospital and 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospital. Before his role as ACOO, he served at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital, where he held leadership roles as executive resident, associate administrator, and vice president of operations.
Adrian Moreno
HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood
HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood has named Adrian Moreno chief operating officer (COO). Moreno brings extensive experience and a proven track record in health care leadership, having most recently served as COO and ethics and compliance officer at HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball. Under his leadership, the hospital implemented operational strategies that increased volume in elective surgery, joint and spine procedures and cardiovascular procedures. Prior to his role at HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball, Moreno served as assistant COO at HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood, leading initiatives such as a $40 million capital expansion and major hospital infrastructure upgrades. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Moreno served as a battalion engineer operations officer during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Valerie Newman
St. David’s Georgetown Hospital
Valerie Newman has been named COO of St. David’s Georgetown Hospital. Newman joined the facility from Medical City Weatherford where she served as vice president of operations since 2020. In that role, she oversaw ancillary and support services, including surgical services, respiratory therapy, diagnostic imaging, mammography, lab, therapy, food and nutrition, environmental, plant operations, emergency preparedness and security. She also launched a robotic surgery program, led the elevation of the facility’s trauma program from level 4 to level 3 accreditation, and was actively involved in recruiting and onboarding new providers. Prior to her role at Medical City Weatherford, Newman was an administrative resident at HCA Florida Osceola in Kissimmee, and she also served as a senior administrative consultant for UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville.
Angela (Angie) Saif, DNP
Methodist Hospital Northeast
Methodist Hospital Northeast has announced that Angela (Angie) Saif, DNP, RN, is the new chief nursing officer (CNO). Dr. Saif most recently served as CNO at Methodist Hospital Landmark and has over 20 years of experience within the health care industry. Dr. Saif joined Methodist Hospital Landmark in 2022, before the hospital’s opening. In her role, she spearheaded the planning, staffing, and operational launch of the hospital, successfully meeting all regulatory requirements while ensuring seamless patient care services. Under her leadership, the hospital created a nursing shared governance model with the integration of ancillary team members and maintained zero hospital-acquired infections. Prior to joining Methodist Hospital Landmark, Dr. Saif served as an assistant chief nursing officer at Methodist Hospital.
