Get Out the Vote: 2026 Primary Election Runoff

 More

The Texas primary runoff elections are quickly approaching. A primary runoff election is triggered when no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote in the primary election. In that case, the top two candidates advance to a runoff. Runoff elections often have lower turnout, meaning every vote carries even greater influence in determining the future of Texas leadership and policy.

The primary runoff election is a critical opportunity for hospital staff to make their voice heard at the ballot box either during the early voting period between May 18-22 or on primary election runoff day on May 26.

The candidates Texans choose at the polls will make decisions affecting the health of hospitals – and their patients – for years to come as hospitals continue to navigate financial pressures, issues with access to care and much more.

On this page, you can download resources to help hospital staff spread the word to make a plan and vote: digital images for social media or for printing to use around the hospital; a poster for elevators, employee break rooms and patient waiting areas; and a sample email that organization CEOs can send to hospital staff to stress the importance of voting.

Every vote counts. Help THA Get Out the Vote and mobilize your hospital community today!
