    Carrie Williams leads communications for the Texas hospital industry as Chief Communications Officer for the Texas Hospital Association. With more than 20 years of experience in public relations, news media and health care, she tackles complex issues and shares insights on how to scale health messaging for the masses.

    With extensive experience in public health, crisis communications, insurance issues and behavioral health, Williams focuses on leveraging digital platforms to advance hospital priorities and improve patient care. She shares insights on best practices in media relations, coalescing hospital communicators and handling crises with strategy and speed.

    Williams has presented nationally on emerging trends and the unique importance of health communications, from digital to traditional news media. From Ebola to COVID-19, she has been on the frontlines as a leader in health communications for Texas for more than two decades.

    She is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified and a graduate of the state’s Executive Leadership Academy. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.

THA Statement on Status of Rural Health Transformation Funds

In late December the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced that Texas is receiving more than $280 million from the federal Rural Health Transformation Program, which is dividing $50 billion across all 50 states.
