This educational activity is jointly provided by AXIS Medical Education and the Texas Hospital Association. 

The Quality and Patient Safety Conference is a key event for clinical and administrative professionals working to provide high-quality health care across the continuum. Featuring two days of education on the latest quality and patient safety issues paired with expert-led education sessions, this conference is a must for quality and patient safety hospital teams. In addition to informative sessions on the industry's hottest topics, the event also provides peer-to-peer collaborative learning opportunities.

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of chief nursing officers and nursing staff, quality and compliance officers, infection control officers and risk management personnel.

This conference is designed for nursing and clinical staff, offering a broad range of continuing education focused on quality and patient safety.

Learning Objectives

  • Discuss the Role of Health Literacy in Patient Safety and Quality
  • Demonstrate Health Literacy Principles for Improving Communication
  • Discuss CMS Conditions of Participation updates pertinent to the acute and critical access healthcare setting
  • Identify how the Infection Prevention and Control program can support antibiotic stewardship activities
  • Review updates to the national patient safety goals of the Joint Commission
  • Identify barriers to physician involvement in quality and patient safety initiatives
  • Discuss strategies to improve multi-disciplinary team involvement
  • Review common values among a multi-generational work force to create a positive work culture
  • Review workplace violence trends in the health care industry and review de-escalation strategies

  In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by AXIS Medical Education and Texas Hospital Association. AXIS Medical Education is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Credit Designation for Nursing
AXIS Medical Education designates this continuing nursing education activity for maximum of 8.75 contact hours.

ACHE Qualified Education
The Texas Hospital Association is authorized to award maximum of 8.75  hours of pre-approved ACHE Qualified Education credit for this program toward advancement or recertification in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Participants in this program wishing to have the continuing education hours applied toward ACHE Qualified Education credit should indicate their attendance when submitting application to the American College of Healthcare Executives for advancement or recertification.

  • To receive ACHE Qualified Education credit or Proof of Attendance, you will receive a link to an online evaluation. Upon completion of this evaluation, you will receive a link to download your Certificate of Successful Completion.
