Infection prevention competencies and skills are critical in today’s healthcare environment. THA is proud to host its third cohort of the seven-part Virtual CIC Preparation Course for infection prevention professionals practicing in Texas hospitals who would like to expand their knowledge and expertise in infection prevention and prepare for Certification in Infection Control (CIC) exam.
Cost
Participation in the CIC Prep Course is free for infection prevention professionals working in a Texas hospital. Applicants must have completed post-secondary education in a health-related field and have direct responsibility for infection prevention program activities in their entity/organization.
Curriculum
Participants will study and review the main subjects of the CIC examination during the live, interactive virtual sessions.

Acceptance into this prep course also includes a valuable CIC study program.
- Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) CIC on-line prep course with 18 CNEs credits
The CIC Exam
At the completion of this CIC Prep Course, participants will have the knowledge and tools necessary to successfully pursue the CIC certification accredited by Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC).
THA will not cover the cost of the CIC exam. Please contact your organization regarding exam fee reimbursement policies.

Program Dates for the 2023 Prep Course
- Applications are due Tuesday, May 23, 2023
- Accepted applicants will be notified by Friday, May 26, 2023
- Accepted applicants will need to confirm acceptance by Friday, Jun 2, 2023
- The seven virtual sessions will be held every Tuesday, June 13 – August 1, 12:30p – 1:30p CST
