The Texas Hospital Association is partnering with cybersecurity experts from the American Hospital Association to bring you a strategic cybersecurity workshop. Cyber leaders from the Texas health care industry will join us to discuss the global cyber threat landscape impacting Texas hospitals. This workshop is designed for both technical and non-technical hospital and health system leaders and will focus on cybersecurity as a strategic enterprise risk issue with implications to care delivery and patient safety.

Participants will discuss and learn with their peers how to identify and reduce cyber risk across all clinical and business functions and create an effective culture of cybersecurity. The workshop will conclude with a cyber exercise designed for multi-discipline leaders focusing on strategic decision making during a major cyber incident.

John Riggi
Senior Advisory for Cybersecurity & Risk, American Hospital Association
John Riggi, a 30-year decorated veteran of the FBI, serves as the senior advisor for cybersecurity and risk for the American Hospital Association. In this role, he is a resource to help members identify and combat cyber and other sources of risk to their organizations. Additionally, he supports AHA’s policy efforts and Federal agency relations on cyber and other risk-related issues. While at the FBI, Riggi served as a representative to the White House Cyber Response Group. He is the recipient of the FBI Director’s Award for leading a highly successful classified terrorism financing interdiction program and the recipient of the George H.W. Bush Award for Excellence in Counterterrorism, the CIA’s highest counterterrorism award.

Marion Bruce
CEO, Muenster Hospital District
Marion began her career in health care 17 years ago. Her work experience includes 12 years as a CFO who also oversaw IT operations. Most recently, Marion lead a network infrastructure update to the organization, undergoing an E.H.R. conversion and updating their security systems.
Russell Tippin
President/CEO, Medical Center Health System
Russell Tippin has been the president and chief executive officer of Medical Center Health System since September 2019. He previously held several CEO positions in West Texas. A Texas native, Russell attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. He then went on to receive his master’s degree in business administration and health care administration from the University of Phoenix in Tempe, Arizona. Russell has more than 20 years of experience in health care administration. Prior to joining Medical Center Health System, Russell was the Chief Executive Officer for 10 years at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews, Texas.
Jeremy Walker
Vice President/CFO, Hendrick Health
Jeremy obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Freed-Hardeman University in Tennessee. He received his master’s degree from Oklahoma Christian University. Jeremy has extensive hospital accounting experience, serving as vice president of Finance at Medical Center of Arlington for three years prior to joining Hendrick in September 2013.
