Hospital Compare

Consumers can assess hospital quality data through the Hospital Compare Web site. Hospital Compare provides useful, understandable and easily accessible way information on hospital quality of care to assist patients, families and communities in making important health care decisions.

Hospital Compare is a cooperative initiative of the Hospital Quality Alliance, a landmark public-private partnership of hospitals, government agencies, quality experts, purchasers, consumer groups and other health care organizations.

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is the U.S. federal agency which administers Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program. CMS provides information for health professionals, regional governments and consumers.

Texas Department of State Health Services

The Texas Department of State Health Services is an agency of the state’s Health and Human Services System. It is one of the state’s largest agencies with a staff of 11,500 and an annual budget of $2.5 billion. Programs include disease prevention and bioterrorism preparedness, family and community health services, environmental and consumer safety, regulatory programs and mental health and substance abuse prevention and treatment programs.
