Marco Lozano, MBA, Assistant Chief Executive Officer, Community Health Systems / Laredo Medical Center, Laredo

A native of the Rio Grande Valley, Marco A. Lozano started his healthcare career in the public health arena in 2015, serving as the Regional Hospital Preparedness Director for Texas Trauma Service Area-V and later promoted to Assistant Public Health Administrator for Cameron County, Texas. In 2017, Marco was recognized by the Kresge Foundation as an “Emerging Leader in Public Health” for his local collaboration, advocacy, and legislative initiatives addressing border health issues. Marco transitioned to the private sector in 2018 and served as the Director of Outpatient Clinics at South Texas Health System (Universal Health Services) where he led local strategic initiatives to grow the ambulatory footprint across the Rio Grande Valley. At STHS, Marco also managed the advancement of Residency education programs and provided administrative oversight for the direction of the program. In 2021, Marco joined LaredoMedical Center (Community Health Systems) as an Assistant Administrator and was promoted in 2022 to Assistant Chief Executive Officer. During his short tenure at LMC, Marco has served as the lead project executive for multiple strategic imperatives, including the re-establishment of the hospital’s open heart program, opening of four new primary care clinics, renovation of the Cath Lab, and opening of a Cardiac Rehabilitation program. Marco also has administrative oversight of LMC’s Cardiac and Respiratory Therapy department, Environmental Services, Nutrition, AASM-accredited Sleep Center, Pastoral Services, Ethics Committee, Hospital Security, Physician Recruitment and leads Patient Satisfaction initiatives. Marco currently lives in Laredo, Texas with his wife, Ashley N. Lozano, PA-C, and their one-year old daughter, Sophia Feliz. Marco holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from the University of Texas at Tyler.
