THA Issues Statement on Governor’s Order on Undocumented Patients

Today, the Texas Hospital Association issued the following statement in response to Gov. Greg Abbot’s executive order and news release announcing a new requirement for Texas hospitals. The order aims to require Texas hospitals to collect information regarding patients who are not lawfully present in the United States who use hospitals for inpatient and emergency care, and to report health care costs incurred as a result.
