Unlike previous open enrollment periods, the window to purchase health insurance is short – just six weeks, closing on Dec. 15. Federal funding for navigators to help uninsured individuals enroll in available coverage also is more limited than in years past. This means that for Texas, which still leads the nation with the most uninsured residents, the stakes are high to maximize outreach and enrollment for eligible-but-uninsured Texans to purchase coverage.
