Benton Sprayberry, Vice President of Operations – South Region, Steward Healthcare, Dallas

Benton Sprayberry is a native of Auburn, Alabama. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science degree in the spring of 2011. During her time at Auburn University, she had the privilege of serving as an ambassador for Auburn and Auburn Athletics by cheering from 2009-2011. She even had the unique opportunity to cheer on the Tigers at the 2010 BCS National Championship football game. 

After attending Auburn University, Benton continued her educational pursuits at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where she earned her Master of Science in Healthcare Administration degree in the spring of 2014. Upon graduation from UAB, Benton accepted a healthcare administrator role with Trinity 

Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama, which is part of Community Health Systems (CHS). She worked for Community Health Systems for six years, serving in a variety of roles at two other CHS facilities: South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, Alabama, and Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. In 2018, Benton accepted the role of Senior Director of Operations with Steward Health Care, which is an acute care hospital system based in Dallas, Texas. She currently supports operations as the Vice President of Operations – South Region for nine hospitals across Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas; seven of these hospitals are in the state of Texas. 

As a current resident of Dallas, Benton serves on a variety of Boards, is involved in a variety of civic groups, and is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher. She enjoys working with high school girls through the Distinguished Young Women program, being engaged with the American College of Healthcare Executives North Texas chapter (ACHENTX), serving as the 2023 Treasurer for the Board of ACHENTX), as well as being involved with both her sorority and the Auburn University alumni groups. Benton was recently recognized as the 2022 Early Careerist of the Year by ACHENTX. She and her French Bulldog, also Louis, enjoy making pet therapy visits to local healthcare facilities.
