EVP Project Director, System Quality and Patient Safety (SQPS) Department, Houston Methodist System

Pavithra joined Houston Methodist, in 2019 and is responsible for executing large-scale systemwide quality and safety initiatives, consulting on business strategy, and driving the implementation of effective governance systems. She works closely with the Chief Physician Executive, site Chief Quality Medical Officers and Chief Nursing Officers to effect change, systematization, and standardization. She was instrumental in developing the concepts of high reliability to promote a culture of safety and has been a key partner during the COVID-19 crisis for driving the messaging to physicians and employees.
Prior to joining Houston Methodist, Pavithra was at the TIRR Memorial Hermann Rehabilitation Network and Mayo Clinic where she had led multiple process improvement initiatives. She has international exposure and significant experience in designing, testing, and implementing successful and sustainable quality improvement projects in hospital operations, call center, centralized business office, OR, research, and patient access departments. She has been involved in numerous research projects at the Mayo Clinic and has publications in the areas of health services research and process improvement.
Pavithra received her Master of Business Administration (Health Services) from The University of South Australia in 2011 and Six Sigma Black Belt from The American Society for Quality in 2017.
