Kathy Griffis is the Vice President of Clinical Operations and Chief Nursing Officer at Titus Regional Medical Center. Among her many accomplishments, she has executed programs that led clinical teams to achieve the 2021 Leap Frog A Safety Grade; is the leader of daily interdisciplinary safety huddle that addresses concerns in a transparent manner; is the project lead for Barcode Administration scanning, improving compliance from 88% to 97.8%; achieved Maternal Level II and Nursery Level II successful certifications; hosted a successful Joint Commission survey for Primary Stroke Center; and used evidenced based criteria to educate staff and reduce catheter days and CAUTI rate to well under national disease burden.

Kathy also researched and initiated evidenced based standardization in the Intensive Care Unit, including hardwiring of a Spontaneous Awakening trial and other best practices; created an innovative ED Charge Nurse program that included quality, safety and patient experience protocols hardwired through a scorecard for transparency; is the Chair of Physician Consult Task Force and built Visio workflow that centered around timeliness of physician care; and hardwired a surgical bundle on medical floors that reduces risk for post-surgical patients.
