Tyler Munson has been named senior vice president of Southwestern Health Resources, the clinically integrated network of UT Southwestern and Texas Health Resources. Munson previously served as vice president of strategic operations at SWHR.

Rhonda Abbott

Rhonda Abbott has been named CEO of TIRR Memorial Hermann, the system’s acute rehabilitation hospital. Abbott is a 19-year veteran of TIRR Memorial Hermann, most recently serving as interim senior vice president and CEO.

Alexandra “Alex” Brock, MBA, has been named vice president of operations at HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress. Brock previously served as the division vice president of cardiovascular services since Sept. 2017.

Linda Kulhanek has been named senior vice president and chief financial officer at CHI St. Luke’s Health. Previously, Kulhanek served as vice president of finance and CFO of Houston Methodist Hospital.

Sharon Sullivan, RN, MSN

Sharon Sullivan, RN, MSN, has been named division vice president of cardiovascular services at HCA Houston Healthcare. In her previous position at HCA Houston Healthcare, Sullivan oversaw the establishment of a cardiovascular research program.

Gerardo Ramos

Gerardo Ramos has been named chief operating officer at Laredo Medical Center. Ramos has been serving Laredo Medical Center as assistant chief executive officer since May 2018.

Jason Adams

Jason Adams has been named president of Christus St. Michael Health System. Adams previously served as president of Saint Joseph East and chief operating officer of Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky.

Dell Children’s Medical Center

Dell Children’s Medical Center performed its first Berlin Heart device implant in a 3-month-old girl. The ventricular assist device takes over the heart function in small children when the child's own heart is too weak to pump enough blood to the lungs or throughout the body. The device is meant as a bridge for children awaiting a full heart transplant.

Childress Regional Medical Center

Childress Regional Medical Center is partnering with the University of Texas at Arlington’s College of Nursing and Health Innovation to offer prospective nursing students the opportunity to stay in the community. The partnership is part of an effort to tackle the nursing shortage in rural communities.

Corpus Christi Medical Center has opened a new emergency center in Rockport. ER 24/7 Rockport is the only emergency medical center in Rockport.

Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital has been designated a Level II maternal care and perinatal facility by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Covenant Children’s Hospital

Covenant Children’s Hospital announced its first ambulance service just for kids. The addition of this ambulance allows for pediatric care while patients are en route to Covenant from other partner facilities.

Midland Memorial Hospital

Midland Memorial Hospital was awarded the Mission: Lifeline Silver Receiving Quality Achievement Award. The hospital earned the honor for its improvements with treating heart attacks outlined by the American Heart Association.

San Antonio

Methodist Hospital Stone Oak

Methodist Hospital Stone Oak has been designated a Level III advanced trauma center by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

The Children's Hospital of San Antonio CEO Cris Daskevich, FACHE is the recipient of the American Hospital Association’s 2020 Grassroots Champion Award for the State of Texas. UT Health Tyler

UT Health Tyler broke ground on their new neonatal intensive care unit. With the addition of a NICU, UT Health Tyler will be able to accept transfers of high-risk mothers and infants from regional hospitals. The NICU is expected to open in Fall 2021.
