Hospitals and health care are among the most heavily regulated industries. From Medicaid finance to telehealth, the decisions made in Austin play a critical role in how Texas hospitals run their businesses and care for patients.
To better prepare Texas hospitals for the 2019 legislative session beginning in January when lawmakers will have a full roster of legislation that could impact hospitals and the care provided, the Texas Hospital Association is partnering with six hospitals across the state to host regional Legislative Townhall Preview meetings this fall.
The meetings are an opportunity for Texas hospitals’ executive leadership and board members to learn about Texas hospitals’ policy priorities and the political changes that are likely to influence the 86th Texas Legislature.
THA staff will discuss key advocacy strategies and provide policy and political updates.
Attendees also will have the opportunity to discuss other challenges or concerns specific to their facility or community and learn about the ways in which THA can assist members in their quality improvement, educational and technology pursuits.
THA encourages member hospitals to register for and attend the free meeting that is most convenient for them.
