Through THA's connections, fellows will interact with thought leaders in the following areas: patient care, governance, advocacy, quality and patient safety, state policy, and federal policy.
Fellows will have the opportunity to highlight their skills, areas of expertise and knowledge not only in the classroom discussions, but also through the group project presentation at the THA Annual Conference and Expo. In addition, all fellows are recognized at the annual conference and receive a certificate of completion. They also are recognized in future marketing collateral and on the website.
Fellows will be assigned a mentor for assistance throughout the program.
The program will include lectures, panels, facilitated discussions, project development and competition as well as a mentoring/coaching component.
The program will feature a business case or project aimed at solving real-world problems for Texas hospitals.
The Leadership Fellows Program kicks off at the THA Annual Conference and Expo each year with an introduction to the newest class. The program involves four in-person two-day modules taken over the course of one year. It culminates at the following annual conference, where fellows will be recognized for their accomplishments.
Each module consists of the following five elements:
- Key policy core competencies;
- Legislative updates;
- Quality and patient safety issues;
- Leadership and building engagement; and
- CEO innovations.
