Legislative and Regulatory Activities

The Texas Hospital Association actively monitors legislative and regulatory activities in Washington, D.C., and maintains regular contact with members of the Texas Congressional delegation to ensure that federal policy serves the needs of Texas hospitals and patients. With a dedicated federal lobbyist, THA members have a voice in the federal policymaking process.

The Texas Hospital Association has outline a list of federal priorities for Texas hospitals and patients, from protecting Medicare and Medicaid and fully funding the hospital preparedness program to protecting access to care for rural residents and Increasing access to reasonably priced prescription drugs and to timely and appropriate behavioral health care services.
