While thousands of our colleagues work around the clock to serve emergency response efforts, their families are being affected by this historic storm and flooding damage.
THA has created the THA Hospital Employee Assistance Fund to assist hospital employees who experienced significant property loss or damage. Please help us provide some relief to our colleagues.

THA will be accepting requests from hospitals in disaster areas who have identified hospital employees in need. We will continue to update this page with more information on how hospitals may request assistance.

Answer: In order to distribute money as quickly as possible, hospital CEOs in FEMA-designated disaster counties will provide the names of hospital employees who meet eligibility criteria for the fund.
- Must be a full or part-time hospital employee who lives in one of the FEMA-designated disaster counties in Texas.
- Must have suffered significant property loss to their home/residence during the August 2017 hurricane and flooding disaster.
Answer: The THA Hospital Employee Assistance Fund will send a check payable to qualifying hospitals based on the number of eligible employees submitted from each hospital. The hospitals will then distribute the funds to hospital employees who suffered significant property loss to their homes/residences during the August 2017 hurricane and flooding disaster.
Answer: The goal of the policy is to ensure that the funds donated to the THA Hospital Employee Assistance Fund are:
- Used in the most appropriate and effective manner to assist hospital employees who, due to the August 2017 flooding disaster, suffered significant property loss or damage;
- Distributed in a timely manner with a minimum amount of paperwork; and
- Distributed in their entirety with no administrative costs deducted.
Answer: You will receive a written or electronic acknowledgement that will include information needed for tax purposes.
Answer: All funds will be used to directly assist hospital employees who suffered significant property loss or damage during the August 2017 flooding disaster. All administrative services are being provided in kind so that 100 percent of your donation will be used to assist hospital employees.
Answer: We are sorry, but the THA Hospital Employee Assistance Fund cannot process distributions to designated individual hospitals or staff.
