Williams to Chair Texas Hospital Association Board

AUSTIN (Jan. 6, 2010) – Michael D. Williams, FACHE, president and chief executive officer of Community Hospital Corporation in Plano, has been elected chairman of the Texas Hospital Association’s 2010 Board of Trustees. Williams took office Jan. 1 and will serve for one year.

Williams has served as president/CEO of Community Hospital Corporation (CHC) since 1997. He is passionate about CHC’s mission to provide resources to support and strengthen community-based hospitals. Williams began his health career at Baptist Medical Center-Montclair in Birmingham, Ala., and subsequently served in positions at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and the Baptist Health System of East Tennessee.

A fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, Williams received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and a master’s degree in hospital and health administration from the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
