AUSTIN (Oct. 12, 2009) – The Texas Hospital Association has elected its 2010 Board of Trustees. New members and officers are designated as “Officer-Elect” or “Trustee Elect” and will begin their terms on Jan. 1. Michael D. Williams, FACHE, president and CEO of Community Hospital Corporation in Plano, will be installed as THA’s new chairman. William W. “Bill” Webster, FACHE, chief executive officer of Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, will be chairman-elect. Barclay Berdan, FACHE, senior executive vice president of system alignment and performance for Texas Health Resources in Arlington, will become immediate past chairman.
New trustees elected to serve three-year terms include:
- Ruth A. “Raz” Cook, FACHE, East Texas Medical Center Fairfield;
- Steve Hartgraves, Graham Regional Medical Center;
- Hank Hernandez, Las Palmas Medical Center, El Paso;
- C. David Huffstutler, St. David’s Medical Center, Austin;
- Tim Lancaster, FACHE, Hendrick Medical Center, Abilene;
- J. Patrick Murray, FACHE, Peterson Regional Medical Center; and
- David N. Parmer, FACHE, Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont.
Trustees continuing as members of the 2010 THA Board of Trustees include:

- Dan Stultz, M.D., THA, Austin (THA President/CEO serves as Secretary-Treasurer).
The Council on Policy Development Chairman and Vice Chairman and the Texas Healthcare Trustees Chairman and Chairman-Elect serve as ex-officio members of the THA Board of Trustees. They are elected independently by their respective groups.
In addition, the THA Board has elected Kirk Calhoun, M.D., Matt Maxfield, Tim Lancaster and Bob Smith as at-large members of the THA Executive Committee to serve a one-year term.
