Overview

When it comes to patient billing, chargemasters are relatively easy; it is charge capture that often proves to be difficult. This program will address both the elements of department head ownership of the charge description master and the key areas of lost revenue. Additionally, rules for CDM – both hard coding and soft coding – are included in this operational-focused training. This program makes use of patient-friendly narratives to discuss charge capture and charge reconciliation ideas. Speaker Day Egusquiza will outline strategies to ensure that your facility is not wasting opportunities for revenue.

Target Audience

This session will benefit all revenue cycle leaders, department heads, patient financial services, CDM coordinators, and nurse coders.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the elements of department head ownership; and
  • Apply rules for CDM hard and soft coding.
