Overview
This operational-focused Webinar will focus on two areas of observation: patient status and billable hours.
Understanding the difference between an inpatient and observation is key to identifying the correct patient status. Identifying quasi-utilization review leaders is necessary to ensure complete, accurate patient status around the clock. This also will include nurses being aware of the patient status and documenting it accordingly. Are all bedside charges being captured? What are the key elements to billable hours versus hours in a bed? Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from reimbursement expert Day Egusquiza who will discuss the unique issues and challenges with ER to observation, post-procedure to recovery to observation, and direct to observation. Transmittals impacting coverage issues also will be incorporated into the training. Sample tools will be available to all attendees.
Target Audience
This session will benefit staff nurses, nurse managers and directors, utilization review, health information management, patient financial services, compliance and the RAC team.
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
-
