2009 Trauma Survey

During the 2009 state legislative session, the Texas Hospital Association conducted a survey of hospitals on emergency department issues. The results were used during the session to preserve the Driver Responsibility Program and secure an increase in the amount appropriated for uncompensated trauma care. Read a summary of the results covering topics ranging from physician compensation to levels of uncompensated care. Some 104 hospitals completed the survey, including nine out of 13 Level 1 facilities and all Level 2 facilities.
