(AUSTIN – May 17, 2010) – Cameron Krier, J.D., M.P.H., has been named senior director of policy analysis for the Austin-based Texas Hospital Association, effective May 17. Krier most recently served as legislative counsel in the office of U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) in Washington, D.C.

In her new role at THA, Krier will focus on a variety of health care policy issues, including health information technology, patient safety and quality, and federal regulatory and reimbursement issues.

“Cameron brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the job, in addition to already having well-established relationships with many of THA’s members and other stakeholder groups,” said John Hawkins, senior vice president of government relations. “Her insight into the federal health reform legislation will be an asset to our hospitals as implementation moves forward.”

Krier has a strong health care background and is a certified emergency medical technician. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, a law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law in Lubbock with an emphasis in health law and a master’s degree from The University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston.
